About Leura Cascades
Hello Guys,
Only if you really think about the Blue Mountains?! We have more detailed information about Katoomba Falls
It’s hard to explain what it is about this World Heritage Blue Mountains region that gets into your blood. Could be the mist of eucalyptus oil hanging over the valleys, or the cliffs glowing gold at sunset while birds fill the valleys with their evening song. No matter what causes it, every time I head west from Sydney Harbour towards that misty horizon, I’m reminded why this World Heritage Listed National Park is one of Australia’s most beautiful landscapes.
I’ve been leading tours around these ranges — from Echo Point and the Three Sisters to underground cave systems to open valleys — for years, and trust me, the Blue Mountains are more than a day trip. They’re the perfect escape from urban chaos, a natural cathedral of sandstone cliffs, waterfalls and gum-scented air.
Only an hour and a half west of Sydney via the Great Western Highway, the Blue Mountains is part of the Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area. It’s a vast World Heritage sanctuary, connecting with the distant Wollemi ranges. It’s an intricate network of valleys, rainforests and towering eucalypts, sheltering a huge diversity of Australian wildlife, including lyrebirds, wallabies and the occasional shy dingo.
